This was one of my favorite posts and I thought it would be perfect as we are digging in the deepest part of our closets for something to wear for the Holidays!  I hope you enjoy and get a good laugh too.

Part of healthy living and being a fabYOUlous You is setting realistic and healthy goals for ourselves.

This post is about giving up those things that just don’t work anymore – especially the clothes we wish still fit, but really don’t.  Trust me, this is near and dear to my heart. It doesn’t matter whether you are a size 6 or 16 you can probably relate.  I know there is something in your closet you can’t fit and it is driving you crazy, I am almost positive.

But what is important is setting realistic, healthy goals that won’t drive you crazy.

It might be time to toss the skinny jeans or the teeny tiny LBD!

Now let me explain just a bit. My hope is #13 help’s you put things, like your clothes, in proper perspective. Let’s be serious, sometimes it’s just time to let that favorite outfit go and stop torturing yourself.

And at other times, we need to re-evaluate what we are eating so we can get back on track and get back into that Little Black Dress.  But we must know the difference between the two choices.

It is a tough decision, but is warrants a decision either way.

I am speaking from experience.

I had  this teeny tiny LBD that I just loved, but it was teeny tiny before I had the Sons.  You know the kind of outfit.  The one that barely fit on a good, no-bloating, no- nothing, day.  Well,  the only way I could fit in it after the third Son of Thunder was born was if I lived on celery, ate no bread and walked a million miles uphill for weeks.

Really, the  Sacred Few would attest to this.  They helped me cut the celery.  Aiding and abetting my desire to get into that darn dress for a party one year. Oh, I got into alright for 48 hours maybe. Ok, it was longer than that but it just didn’t seem worth it.

Life is too short and celery is just celery …

So let’s get real.  We can’t live on celery for weeks at a time.  I suppose you could, but that would be called an eating disorder and then that would lead to well, all kind of bad things and probably to a place where you wear a hospital  gown and not a LBD.

This can affect a buy cheap levitra person irrespective of age, sexuality or state of health. The Answer to the Problem!

So this is how I resolved my dilemma.  I knew there must be a dress just like that LBD I love out there in just a tad bigger size. And sure enough, one day walking through a store I came across a LBD that was indeed close enough to the original that I bought it.  I love it and have worn it often. An answer to my problem and a good one at that.

As far as the teeny, tiny Little Black Pants from pageant days, they have been given to another pageant girl for her to enjoy.  Those days are over for me and that is okay.  Remember if we are trying to fit into something that is 20 years old it better be over the moon! Really!!!!  And if it is remotely out of date then why are we working so hard to get into it anyway?

As far as the skinny jeans, I have hung on to them.  They are  not that crazy skinny … To stay in those I have to eat healthy. I have to live right.  I love them and they are worth it. Sometimes they are loose and sometimes they fit just perfect.  But they fit and it is a good way to help me staying on track.

I loved this post and thought it might be perfect since many of us are digging in the recesses of our closets looking for something to wear for the holidays.  I hope you enjoy it !  It is one of my favorites.

As far as that original LBD goes, it is tucked in the deepest darkest part of the closet and should be tossed. But I just haven’t been able to bring myself to do it yet. Fortunately, the expectation to fit in it again is gone and that is a bit freeing.

There are times we have to make decisions about our health and our wardrobes.  Both are hard to do, but both are necessary.  Taking care of our body is a constant and it is a lifelong choice.  Exercise and healthy eating habits have to be our friend and not our foe, whether we like it or not.  Having a realistic weight and body image is so important for our long-term health and happiness.

Celebrating your body at each stage of your life is a key to personal happiness too.

This old body has birth three Sons, packed moving trucks and moved countless times, dug a million holes to China, grieved some terrible losses, skied, hiked and fished and clocked countless hours of aerobics and one billion crunches and counting.  It continues to serve me well and if things aren’t where they used to be well….I just celebrate and keep moving!

Because always wishing you were back in that unrealistic LBD will make you a crazy woman – and who needs crazy.

So here is the bottom line, if the Little Black Dress hanging in your closet is hanging over your head and causing self-defeating thoughts, then Sister, I say get rid of it and move on!

Be blessed and encouraged abundantly today as you  begin to make new choices for you and set realistic goals for your health and happiness.

Awesome – especially since I had my daughter Gwyneth, your godsister, and my daughter-in-law Amanda, go through my closet a few months ago…wyes, a few “treasures” went, but it was actually a great relief to see a lot of the oldies but not so goodies go….
