Yesterday at church the minister of music preached and well, in the words of the Youngest SON of Thunder, who put it so eloquently, “Wow, He can really serve it up!”

He was dead on.  Out of the mouths of babes. Sometime we wonder whether they are getting it. And sometimes, there are moments just like those that stir the flames of faith in a mother’s heart.

The youngest SON was right on. Our music minister indeed served it up, or as we say in Oklahoma, “boy howdy, that was great!”

The worship was powerful, the singing was powerful, the interpretive dance was powerful and by all means the message was powerful.

It was  indeed great to be in the house of the Lord.  There was an anointing and the Holy Spirit was moving and it was mighty and powerful.

We were finishing a series of sermons on Seasons – Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.  There is far too much to say about the sermons preached over the last four weeks, but life changing and unforgettable are great adjectives to describe how our ministers presented  in this series.

I strongly believe that God wants t0 be in every part of our story and what I loved most about this last message was that that He wants to be part of every season.  Yes, dear friends,  God wants to use every part of our story, every season you have been through or find yourself in and regardless of where we are right now. Our stories and the seasons of our life testify to God’s glory and give honor and praise to Him!

But most of all dear friends, as I sat in church, I hoped that others were safe and sound in the house of the Lord. If you have not found a church that feels like home, please don’t give up and don’t give in.

God has a place for you that is just right in the body of Christ.  You are important and your presence matters. But most of all there is a church that needs, where God wants to use you in the lives of others.

Yes, as my father use to say, the church is like a hospital – full of sinners saved by grace.  Unfortunately, hurt people … hurt people. We must however,  purpose ourselves to be the body of Christ. We are His hands, His feet, His instruments of love.  We are the body of Christ and fellowship with other believers is vital to our spiritual journey.

And yes, someone may hurt you and probably will, they may forget you and not call you, but that can happen in any church.  I am confident that when you walk through the doors of the church God has for you, you will know it. It won’t necessarily be perfect, but it will be perfect for you and your whole family.

Step out in faith and find a place to connect and start growing with other believers.

Just a little wisdom from the Little Black Dress, who has been there and done that and now we have finally found a place to call home.

Be blessed and encouraged abundantly today my fellow sojourners!
