Today’s LBD’ Guide To A FabYOUlous and Healthy You is critical to everyone’s health.

It is so important to get enough of both in your life to feel fabulous.

With the recent time change some of us are experiencing what may almost feel is like “jet lag.” I sure am.   It is now darker in the morning and brighter at night which is great but that can cause our internal clocks to get a bit messed up.

Creating a regular wake up time and bedtime routine is critical to getting your internal clock back on track.

Here are a few tips that are rather simple to get the most from your Sleep …

  • Set that clock every day of the week for the same time and even the weekends.  Starting the day at the same time allows for a routine to be created.

Yes, that means no more sleeping in until one in the afternoon on Saturdays.  People often believe they will catch up on lost sleep but that is not really possible.  You can’t “bank” sleep time.  You either get it when you get it or you don’t.  It may take a while to get your clock readjusted but I promise if you stay with it you get feel terrific.

  • Then get on a regular bedtime time schedule as well.  Cut off the Television, read a book, and gear down. This is all good for mind, body and soul.

Years ago Winters and I committed to always go to bed at the same time.  We have done that faithfully but we have pretty much for the 190 years we have been married and it has been  a great decision for us and most of all it was a pattern and routine that we committed too.

  • The body needs to rest to restore and the best way to do it is with sleep and plan some down time into your day and week. Create a electronic Ban, yes that means  no electronic time or working so you can rest your mind and soul.  Just plan sometime to be still and do something relaxing for yourself.

This is easier said than done I know.  Rest for me difficult, I must confess, especially with three active SONs of Thunder but that is just they life is.  Sometimes it is just wacky and you have to work around wacky.   There will always be something that gets in the way of healthy habits and that is true with anything in life especially when trying to make a positive change in your life that you wish to make.  However if they are worth making they are worth the sacrifice to get the positive outcome you long for.

  • Remember that any healthy habit begins with one decision. One choice. One change no matter how small or how great it is a change for the better.

So the LBD’s suggests one way toward a fabYOUlous and healthy you is to start taking care of yourself with getting more rest and sleep.  It is worth it I promise.  You will be glad you made the choice to change your sleep habits today.

I would love your thoughts and feedback on tips that have worked for YOU! Please feel free to share them here or on my facebook page.

Be Blessed and encouraged abundantly today as we all start working toward a FabYOUlous and Healthy Lifestyle together!
