New Day ~ New You ~ New Beginning

Every day is a perfect time to start living life in our passion and purpose! That is why I wrote,  The Stepping Into Purpose Inspirational Guide, I think self-examination, goal setting and getting a plan together is great  any time of the year.  But most importantly, you must want to focus on YOU.

I am not talking about making a New Year’s resolution where you try to accomplish some herculean goal that is unrealistic and unattainable.  That will soon lead to defeat and self – loathing.

My friends, if we do not set out to get somewhere on purpose we will wander aimlessly through life.  Life will either happen to us or we will make choices that help guide us to God’s greater purpose for us.  Then we will create the life He wants for us and the life we want as well.

Seeing our life from an honest perspective is critical.  This soul-searching  helps us see our thorns in the flesh, our brokenness and our weaknesses.  The great news is that God can help us lead the life He has called and predestined us too.  But we must do our part.  He can’t do that work for us.  We must want God to restore our broken, dysfunctional and frayed lives.

Remember that nothing changes if nothing changes.

Sometimes we can get stuck.  Stuck in a place, a thought pattern, behavior or addiction and we can’t seem to get unstuck.  Often we simply surrender to it and no longer fight back.

But it is my desire you fight back and work to build the life you want.  Take out your journal or note pad and get busy asking yourself some questions like these:

What do I need to let go of that is no longer working for me or serving me well?

What are the things in my life that I will no longer tolerate either those that are self-imposed or done by others?

What behaviors, habits, relationships and/or things are no longer well suited for my life now or the life I want to lead?

Where do I want to be next year at this exact time and day?

What has to change to help me live and be in that place I want to be in?

What are the dreams, passions and desires I have for my life?

Never forget your Dreams, Visions, Goals, Passions, Purpose and Calling.  Begin to set some specific, measurable, attainable and trackable goals that we need to get started building that life and becoming the person you want to be.

I want to invite you to fight back for the life you want.  Don’t give up and don’t give in.  I urge you to use every day as springboard to a new life and Fit, FabYOUlous, Bold and Beautiful You. Seek God’s wisdom for guidance and most of all make the commitment to change! Be firm with yourself and fight back the old way of living with prayer and scripture to articulate the change you want to see now! I suggest tackling one or two issues first.

We have a choice.  Yes, we have to choose … Choosing to change means admitting what we are doing isn’t working.  It may be problematic or you feel you’re just headed in the wrong direction.  But God is a God of restoration – I am positive of that.  He makes ALL things new again.  He can restore your life, your dreams, your health, your finances, your family and your hope again.

You may find yourself in a place you never thought you would be today.  You may even have come to a place where the streets are not marked, well that is how Dr. Seuss so eloquently put it.  And worse yet, you may be anything but the person you set out to be and when you look in the mirror you are asking yourself  “Who am I?”, “Who have I become” and  “How did I get here?”

I have asked myself in the past who could I turn to in a time of crisis now that my parents are gone.  Who could I count on to help me through my time of unmarked streets.  I must then pause and remember I have a Savior who will never leave me or forsake me.  I take great comfort in that and I hope you do too.  He loves you and is not judging you, but wants to help you live free from bondage.

As God says is his word, He is a refuge, our ever-present help when we are in trouble.  He is mighty to save.   He is the one who parted the Red Sea.  Jesus made the lame to walk and blind to see.  No problem you face today is too great for our Lord and Savior.

It is never too late to ask for God’s help.  He is the one who can show us the way, deliver us, help us learn new ways of living.  He can heal our broken hearts and navigate the unmarked roads we may have found ourselves on.  I am certain we can never get too far from God’s love.

As long as we have breath to breathe we have the ability to change and live a new life.  So today why not start Stepping Into Purpose, Yes, why not consider this the day to start making the changes you want. Make this the first day of the rest of your life and the beginning of creating the life you want!

Be blessed and encouraged as you fulfill your dreams and you live life in your passion and purpose.  May you be set free from all that is keeping you tethered to a life that no longer serves you well and may you walk in freedom all the days of your life.

Be confident of this that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to the completion until the day of Jesus Christ.   Philippians 1:6
