Life gets busy. Yes it does!

It gets hectic, crazy and wild.  There are no doubt times in my life that I must simply remember the basics of life, like breathing.

I know we breath because that is what the body does and the heart beats as well too. We don’t have to think about it or do we?

I want us to just get back to some of the basics of life, like remembering to breathe calmly, slowly and reflectively.  So this week number #14 and #15 are just really simple basic tips but I hope they are a helpful reminders as well..

#14. Take a deep breath

We need to remember to simply breathe.  Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.  Relax and relax a little more! For any of you who have done yoga or Pilates, you know the kind of breath I am talking about. So why not in everyday life! Focus on your breath – it is so important, especially during very stressful or hectic times.

REMEMBER TO BREATH!  I wrote this little reminder several months ago and it helped me.  In fact it helped me so much that I have it, believe it or not, posted in a beautiful frame on a wall in my powder room.  I hope it blesses you as much as it has me.

Today, be Present.

Remember to take a Deep Breath.

And Just Breath.

Celebrate that through the

#15. Practice Stillness

I think stillness may not seem like much, but it is.  It is so important to remember to just, sometimes, be still!  There is that simple verse – Be still my soul. Yes! That is it.  Let’s not get so busy and distracted that we are not still enough to hear the voice of the Lord.

I urge you to find and capture moments to be still before the Lord and sit at the feet of Jesus.  Yes, it is in the stillness that we clearly hear and find God.  Now you might be like me – it can be difficult to hear the Lord with the Sons of Thunder and all their friends making their thunderous noises throughout the house and scurrying around. The Sons pose endless questions and that is usually from dusk until dawn.  Sometimes the responsibilities of life can keep us so busy that we hear everything but the Lord.

But believe it or not, you can find moments of stillness; just be ready and look for them.  They may be in the car, in a parking lot, in the bathroom, or in the wee hours of the morning  or the late, late hours of the night.  God will speak.  He will find you and you will find Him when you seek Him in the stillness of the day or night, even if it is for just a moment.

I pray you breathe more deeply and are still more often.  But most of all I pray that you will find the peace of God!

Be blessed and encouraged as you seek and find Jesus in the stillness of the moment!
