Fulfill your call and refuse to give in and refuse to not move!

It is as simple as that or is it?

On this Thankful Thursday some of you may be saying to yourself  – “I know what God wants me to do but I am just not doing it.” Others may be  saying “I have no clue what I am supposed to be doing with my life.” And others may know what to do, but are afraid to move forward out of fear of failure.  Life has a way of killing the dream we dream.

The reasons why we do not do what we are called to do goes on and on and on …

But we must fulfill God’s call on our life,  we simply must!

That was the passionate plea to the SONS of Thunder from Winters and I  last night as we watched American Idol.

I have to be honest, I cannot remember what prompted the  passionate and dramatic discussion about fulling God’s call, but there it was!

I think we watched a couple of the singers and it was obvious this was their God-given talent and they were in their purpose.

The bottom line is God has a call on your life and you are the only one who is able to fulfill that call. You have a gift and purpose that only you can do as God created you to do. So go do it! But again, so often we don’t.

If we do not do what God has called us to do then it is most likely that others will not be able to fulfill God’s purpose in their life as well.  I know that may sound odd but we are the body of Christ and if you choose to not follow God’s leading it, could alter the lives of others around us forever.  Sad I know but true. Think about that for a moment because that is how important we are in the lives the other.  If Satan can kill your dream then he can kill the dream of another close to you!

On this Thankful Thursday I know beyond a shadow of a doubt we are to follow Him at all cost!

Where He leads we must be willing to go and how He serves we must be willing to serve.  We must be willing to trust God to direct us and He will direct us, but we must trust Him and seek Him.  But we must also remember that we battle not with flesh and blood but principalities.  Yes, I believe Satan wants to keep you from your purpose. The Bible says he comes to kill, steal and destory.  That is Satans  mission and you are his target.

And if, when we leave this earth, we did not do our purpose and our part, then the opportunity is lost forever. I know that may sound a bit theatrical, but we only get one life on earth.

Satan or the enemy or whatever you want to call him will do anything to keep you from what  God has called you to do.  He wants you to believe the lie and the lie is different for everyone.  He is tricky that way.  For one person it is one thing that holds them back, for another it may be something completely different. He will throw anything your way to get you off track.  It is spiritual warfare, plain and simple.

As the Irish Blessing so beautifully puts it, “You are a significant part of God’s plan.”  We are not “insignificant’ but rather “significant.”  We are” important”, not “unimportant.”

WOW!  I pray you will hear me  today. You are called and you have a gift and a purpose for such a time as this!

Most of all I pray you step into what it is that God has called you to do.

Refuse to give up.

Refuse to give in.

Refuse not to move.

Refuse to listen to the nay sayers

Refuse to listen to your own fear and negative self talk.

Refuse to listen to Satan whispering, “you can’t do it.” Rise up men and women of God! Be bold because our confidence is in Christ and Christ alone.

Life is short. We pass this way but once so “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path”.

So on this Thankful Thursday ask “how do you wish to use me Lord? And press in to the Lord and discover the call the Lord  God has on your life and most of all pray – “not my will but yours, Lord”.

If we choose not to be used by God then God will use someone else.  He works that way.  How does the old saying go – use it or lose it.  God is faithful and just and He wants to use you in a specific and mighty way to change the world for Him if we are willing to be used by Him!

So on this Thankful Thursday be blessed and encouraged as we choose to used by God and allow Him to fulfill His purpose in us and maybe change  the world at the same time.
