My plane landed in Atlanta three days ago at a break necking pace and I have tried to rest but I too hit the ground running just about as fast as the plane landed.  My Tulsa trip was awesome and unforgettable.  But today, this Thankful Thursday, we were off to Kiwanis, where Winters was the guest speaker!  It’s been great to be back with the SONs and Winters. I must give him major kudos for keeping our lives together while I was in Oklahoma! He is a master juggler.

But this Thankful Thursday was a special day as I accompanied Winters to Kiwanis where he talked about his book Everyone Needs A Sam, The SAM Bible Study Guide and The Little Black Dress and the SONs of Thunder.

The Kiwanians were a wonderful group of men that clearly loved God, family and friends!

Today was extra special for me because I got to watch the man I love doing what he loves to do.  He talked about the books he so passionately poured his heart and soul into.  It is a wonderful feeling and a beautiful blessing to see those we love fulfilling God’s call on their lives.

I will be honest trying to do what you feel God has called you to do isn’t always easy.  But God didn’t call us to an easy life.  He called us to follow Him whether the road be an easy one or not.  We have been fortunate to have the support from many friends and for that we are forever grateful.  Those SAMs that offer help, offer ideas, and bring a flashlight when we have found ourselves in the deepest valley.  Our SAMs, friends or as I like to call them the Sacred Few have been a blessing to us as Winters and I continue to pursue our dreams, our passion and our purpose.

Sometimes life looks different from what we thought it would…  I know that is true for many people not just Winters and I.  Many have found themselves starting life over, doing life differently or re-establishing a new vision not just personally but professionally as well.

There are some things Winters and I never expected, like being back in Georgia, or having to put my parents in a nursing home, or that they would pass away so quickly.  We never dreamed of a lot of things.  But I did dream of Winters writing books and I did expected it would not be an easy road to get his message out.

Today as I watched Winters talk about SAMS, those mentors, true advisors, and the need to seek Godly wisdom I realized more than ever how much this generation needs to hear this message.  The men Winters spoke too, well, they got it!  They knew exactly what he was talking about because many of these men in the meeting talked of their SAMS.  It blessed my heart to see Winters in his purpose and it blessed my heart to hear the mens stories that echoed throughout Winters book.

I pray that no matter where you find yourself today or how hard it has been to fulfill God’s call on your life, I pray you know that your story has not taken God by surprise.  He is not scratching His head trying to figure out how in the world Winters and I ended up back in Newnan, Georgia again and He is not scratching his head about your circumstances either.

You are not lost, dear friend, but found!  God knows right where you are.  He knows your struggles, your hurts, your failures and your successes and He loves you all the same!

Dear sweet friend, God takes great delight in you and all that you seek to do in His name!  Just as I sat celebrating Winters, I can only imagine how much more God is celebrating each of us!

And the Dream, whatever it maybe is still alive and well in your heart and soul whether it is an old one, a brand new one or a revised reversion of dream!  Over the last 5 years we have had many revisions but the ultimate dream remains a constant!

Your dream may be just within your grasp.

Ask God for eyes to see and just wait.  Any moment your friends will start turning on their flashlights.

I was blessed to spend this past week with some of my flashlight carrying friends and it was great to see them shine their lights on my dreams! It blessed and encouraged me as they reminded me of  my purpose and I reminded them of theirs.

So on this Thankful Thursday, I pray you are surrounded by SAMs that support and encourage you to fulfill God’s call on your life.  I pray you are encouraged to follow your dreams as impossible as they may seem because we know all things are possible with God!

Be blessed and encouraged as we remember that it is faith, hope and love that keeps the dream, the heart and love alive!
