On Saturday those that receive the Newnan Times Herald saw a giant blank page smack dab in the middle of their newspaper.

A no doubt that isn’t good unless you are running an art contest.  If you read Winters editorial in Sundays paper you know all about what happened and you know about the art contest.  Winters was up at 1:00 to about 2:30 am Saturday morning with the pressmen, circulation men and texting back and forth trying to deal with the broken plate maker. You don’t fix a plate marker and you don’t keep on as a spare either.  So that made for a long night while trying to get the best result from a bad situation.

But for me, I gotta love a man who is clever, charming, smart, and calm when he wakes from a dead sleep. It reminded me of how he was when we delivered the SONs. Winters and the staff problem solved in the middle of the night about the newspress crisis and worked to make sure the news was delivered at your door steps Saturday with little or no delay and give or take a page or two. Yes, it was the sports pages and that is a bummer for our sports lovers especially the day before the super bowl. But the great news is there will be an art contest and prizes for the best creation on those two giant blank pages.  They are a perfect canvas!

After being up have the night watching my newspaper man in action no doubt some news is better than no news at all. He is and always has been passionate about news. That makes a wife happy to see her husband happy. Some days or in our case weeks never seem to end. This past week was indeed a hard week for Georgia and our paper.  But it is during hard times we see what people are made of. I love what John Winters is made of and I am proud of the dedication and staff of the Newnan Times Herald to roll up sleeves and work even harder.
