The last two weeks have just been long.  I mean really, really long.  On Monday, I was already tired and ready for the weekend. Not a great way to start a week is it?

Letty, my angel of house keeping came yesterday to save me from my dust bunnies and when she arrived I was pinned under a mound of laundry. No really, I am serious.   I always “clean” before she comes to “clean” and I inadvertently was trapped under all the SONs clothes.

Once I was unearthed, I went to write a blog thinking it was Wednesday,  I posted the LBD’s Guide to feeling Fit, fabYoulous, bold and beautiful healthy you. For several days now, The eldest SON and I have been working feverishly to get the Power Prayer Warrior Guide into one huge document to go to the final editor.  This has been hurculian task on many levels and no is just trying to work a teenager who knows it’s all.  And yes, it you notice I did not refer to is as ” Power Prayer Girls” but rather “The Power Prayer Warriors!”   I have changed the name and I am thrilled.  It is so much more fitting and it epitomizes the kind of women of prayer my mother was and what I long for all of us to be like as well.

So it was about 10:00 p.m. last night and the eldest SON was kissing me goodnight.  I said, is today Thursday?  He of course looked at me like I was crazy.  then said, Uh! yea, with his eyebrows raised.  I miss my thankful Thursdays!  How did I do that… How did I do that …Then I thought to myself how did I even make it through this week or even day…Then I took a breath! And said Well, Thankful Thursdays will just have to be on FabYOUlous Friday.

Some days just refuse to end and some weeks can feel like an eternity. You gals know what I am talking about I am sure.  There are days the laundry never ends, the kids are sick and you’re trying to find to pray and Satan is trying to make you feel guilty for not being better at being all things to all people.  Oh and by the way, I know that you know that is impossible…  However, sometimes we women can forget that small fact.

To live a great life we must live an authentic and real life.   Sometimes a gal just has to do what a gal has to do!  And just do the best she can.

Life can be hectic. Frankly, rising a family, parenting and juggling everyday life can be wacky.   But we are not alone.  Many families can relate to wacky times.  But sometimes we feel compelled to be someone we’re not because we think others will like us more and we pretend our life is all together.   Bottom line is, be YOU.  True friends will like you no matter what…..   Only YOU can be the best YOU that YOU can be!  Between the gloomy rain and Winters loving to share the less than loving letters to the editor, I was ready for the weekend.

On this FabYOUlous Friday in the Newnan Times- Herald Winters published a letter to the editor that was quite critical of him and his writing style. That is one of the perks of the newspaper industry, you get to share what everyone thinks of you. I have gotten a thick skin having been a former pageant queen and since being married to a newspaper man too, A thick skin can be a good thing.  But Winters always handles criticism so much better than I do.  You can read the letter in the paper if you wish but part of the gentleman’s letter said this and I quote “I never paid much attention to Mr. Winters’ columns because of his insane use of terms like the “Little Black Dress and the “son of Thunder” in his delusional attempt to make his wife and son appear to be larger-than-life wacky super heroes.” Those are some great adjectives and everyone who knows me knows I love adjectives.   The beautiful part of this story is that God loves Mr. W. J. Butcher as much as he loves me, a wacky larger than life superhero called the Little Black Dress, or mom, or wife, or friend, or child of God.

I kind of had to take what he said as a complement I am wacky and there are days I do indeed feel like a superhero especially when I have unearthed myself from that mound of laundry that could take out Godzilla, love on my wild wacky family and when I have opportunities to share God’s love and grace with women all over the world.  I feel very blessed indeed.  The reality is that at almost any given time we all have the opportunity to perform acts of heroism.  I am honored that Winters, calls me his “Little Black Dress,” it is a term of endearment to me. Life is funny.  What one person loves another may loathe.

But above all we must seek to love.  We must seek to forgive and be forgiven and sometime we must also remember to forgive ourselves as well. We may also have to forgive people who judge us and they don’t even know us.

And whether we are rich or poor, small house or large, a red cape or blue, or no cape at all.  Whether we are short or tall, slim or on the large size.  I hope today you Embrace your Life  and celebrate the moments of your life!   It may not be perfect, but what is really perfect anyway.   This is your life. Remember you are special.   Treasure the small things.  Don’t sweat the small stuff.  Let things go and remember life is short.  And if there are people who don’t like you then find the ones that do.

Life can be crazy and a bit stressful.  In the midst of all of it we must always find time be grateful and give thanks for our many blessings no matter how great or small.  Remember to relax, to breathe, to be ourselves and remember that we can’t be all things to all people all the time.

You do not know where you will be tomorrow, let alone next year.  So relish the moment you are in!

Dinner will get finished, the house will look good and maybe it won’t. You get to the laundry and all the dust bunnies will be caught.

Life is about family … It is about fulfilling our purpose … It’s about friends.  It’s about Love.  It is about you being you whether people like you are not.  It is about Christ and His love for us.

So on this FabYOUlous Friday as we celebrate Thankful Thursdays I pray dear friends that you remember most of all, you are loved by the Savior of the World and whether you have it all put together or are as wacky as I am, I pray that you always remember that you are a treasure safe in the arms of Jesus and that God is enthralled with your beauty and He loves YOU for YOU!  I pray you will also celebrate all that you have accomplished whether great or small.

Be blessed and encouraged abundantly as we live our real and authentic life!
